MAR DEL NORTE (North Sea)
Mar del Norte is the record album by the Mexican bassist, composer and producer Rodrigo Mata, the works that make up this album are some of those composed in 2020 and 2021 during his stay in Norway, seven for solo double bass, one for two double basses and one for double bass and guitar. For the duet pieces, two guest musicians collaborated: Daniel Guerra as guitarist and Jonathan Rivera as bassist, the rest of the pieces have been performed by Rodrigo Mata himself. In each of the present works, new instrumental technical ideas of the double bass and truly sincere that contain various elements that attract the public speeches can be appreciated.
